Students in Florida entering grade 9 through 12 are required to fulfill 24 Credit Hours in a structure specifically designed by Florida legislation and Department of Education. The required credits may be earned through equivalent, applied, or integrated courses or career education courses. An equivalent course is one or more courses identified by content-area experts as being a match to the core curricular content of another course, based upon review of the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for that subject.
The learning standards for the American section at Flexi Academy American School are aligned with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English Language Arts and Mathematics, as well as the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies State Standards.
