Full time students are typically taking all core courses and 1 elective and 1 foreign language yearly, and will receive teaching and instruction services by our staff and teachers, while homeschoolers will enroll to the courses and material available on our portal through the integration with our academic partners without any support from our teachers or admin staff.
Upon enrollment, all students are going to be registered in Ministry of Education in Ontario OEN and students will get their students’ numbers, OR Florida Department of Education (FDE), USA. Every student will have a file at FIS and OEN/FDE. This is applied for students who are located anywhere in the world. Students will receive certificates and reports upon transfer from one grade to the next. This provides international students with the same privileges as students in the province of Ontario. They receive Progress Reports and certificates identifying their nomination to next grades until Grade 9. From grade 10 to grade 12, students have to choose either to complete the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or the American High School Diploma (AHSD).
We fulfill the requirements of the school or university if you wish to enroll your children in it after studying at our school. For example, if the student’s title is required to certify the diploma, we will do so. If the sending of shots is in progress and if US accreditation is required, we will.

This makes FLEXI SCHOOL bricks-and-mortar public schools and private schools in the province of Ontario – Canada, and the Sate of Florida – USA.
No! FLEXI SCHOOL is a full-time online school, more or less like the brick and mortar schools.
Students proceed through their courses as quickly or as slowly as they desire. There are no schedules or due dates to follow—students decide when to hand in their assignments and when to take their tests to meet any personal deadlines they might have. Attendance to study at the portal is not tracked, but appointments stated by Flexi Learning Management System are. Students have up to 12 months in which to complete their courses and have the option to pay for course extensions. Students choose when and how the coursework is completed. The course outline indicates that the course will take at least 110 hours and highlights the breakdown of each unit. Please keep in mind that the 110 hours reflect the number of hours a student may spend on the lessons and does not include additional time students may take to complete assignments or prepare for tests or examinations. At FLEXI SCHOOL, we recognize that students learn at different paces, and therefore, our teachers do not track the amount of time students spend online working on their courses. The rate of progress through the course is based on the students’ completion of the lessons and assessments.
Upon entering Grade 9, students can select one path for high school, either American High School, or Canadian High School:
To obtain American High School Diploma (AHSD), students must study 24 Credit Hours through Grades 10-12. Studying for 3 years is not mandatory, since students’ study at least 24 Credit Hours will be performed successfully.
For Canadian (Ontario) Secondary School Diploma, students have to pursue 30 Credits, 18 mandatory and 12 electives, from Grade 10 through Grade 12.
Students can register for the school at any time.
Students can work/study at their own pace.
Each course contains instructional content that covers all the American Learning Standards and American curriculum expectations.
Assignments and assessment appear throughout the course content.
There are interactive activities and multimedia elements throughout the content to engage students, provide opportunities to practice understanding, and differentiate instruction according to varied learning styles.
The assignments are submitted via students’ accounts on our portal. Any tests or quizzes will be open-book, timed, and completed online.
Our teachers will send weekly study plans to students on the portal. Those plans align with our general academic map.
Students study the material and lessons identified on the weekly plans through our partner curriculum providers Discovery Education and NewPath Learning, and receive all questions, tests, etc. from the Standard-Based External Assessment partner, Edulastic, which are all integrated with our Portal.
Students receive assessment reports by the end of every week. Those reports identify areas of weakness of students’ performance. Consequently, our system generates appointments (classes) for the students with relevant teachers for the next week.
Both teachers and students receive appointment schedules by the end of every week for One-to-One or One-to-Group classes on our Virtual Classroom Tool available on the portal.
Teachers enhance students learning collectively or individually by sending relevant material and resources to their accounts to help them enrich their learning after their virtual classes.

Guidance
You will have to enroll to the mainstream FOA courses and system, and apply for an IEP plan. Our academic director will study your plan and advise strategies to cope up with your plan, which might include additional fees if the plan requires additional courses, or a fast track that will entitle FOA to assign particular tutors to support your plan.
A prerequisite course is one that a student must complete prior to taking the next level of the subject. The Ministry of Education outlines prerequisite requirements in order to ensure that students are properly prepared to take a course at the next level. For example, a student must complete SCH3U prior to being able to take SCH4U in order to ensure that the student has the foundation to be successful in the higher-level course. A student may enroll in a course without providing prerequisite evidence, but they will not have access to all of the course content until this evidence is demonstrated to FOA. Depending on the experience of the student, it is also possible that a prerequisite requirement can be waived, but this is done at the discretion of the FOA Principal. If a student or parent requests that a prerequisite be waived, the principal will determine whether the prerequisite should be waived based upon the student’s educational level, experience, or maturity. If a student has taken a similar course in a different province or country, it is possible that the prerequisite could be waived as determined by course equivalency standards.

Prospective pupils demonstrating outstanding potential may be considered for a scholarship. Up to 10% of Online Flexians will be offered an Academic Scholarship each year of up to 50% of the annual tuition fee. These individuals will be selected at the end of each admissions window of the incoming year, based on their application form and their relative performance against their cohort during the admissions process.
We offer two pupils full bursaries every year, funding their studies for two years. Our bursaries are worth 100% of tuition fees. Bursaries are means-tested and available to pupils based only in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Canada. Pupils must first gain a place at the school through academic merit. We work with a charity to place the right pupils. For more information, please contact the Admissions team or info@flexiacademy.com.
All of our teaching staff are dedicated to ensuring that you have an enjoyable, and academically successful, time at Flexi Online Academy. However, if you do decide that you want to change to a different school, then you must give one term’s notice.
FOA has very few additional costs. For the vast majority of our students, the tuition fee for their course is the only fee they pay to FOA. Additional fees may apply in the following circumstances:
Course Transfers:A student has the option to transfer from one course to another at any time within the 12-month completion deadline. If a student requests a transfer, an administrative fee will be required as the preliminary work will have to be repeated by our staff. It is important to note that if a student transfers into a new course, the 12-month deadline will not refresh. The student will be required to complete the new course within the original 12-month deadline, based upon the enrolment date of the original course. Transfers will not be available to a student who has completed more than three assessments. The decision of the FOA Registrar is final in all cases involving refund requests and course transfers.
Course Extensions: Students will have the opportunity to extend a course if they are unable to complete the course within the 12-month time limit. The extension options are listed below. 1 additional month: $50
2 additional months: $75
3 additional months: $100
4 additional months: $125
5 additional months: $150
6 additional months: $175 The maximum length of extension allowed for any course is 6 months total. Students must pay for the extension on or before the date of expiration. Fees apply to the number of months being purchased at the time of transaction and are not calculated in combination with any extensions previously purchased by the student. For example, if a student purchases one month for $50 and requires an additional one-month extension, the same fee ($50) will apply, with no fee reductions. Students will be removed from their courses on the next business day following the expiration date. Once removed, the course cannot be reactivated.
Registration
FOA has ongoing enrolment, which means students may register on any day of the year. Typically, students will be able to begin courses within 24 hours of registration. Registrations that occur on holidays will be enrolled on the next day.
Registration is completed online using our registration page.
Once the registration process is complete, students will receive an initial email confirming their registration and payment. A second email will be sent with the student’s username and a password link. Typically, this email is received within 24 hours.
Student Support
Our teachers will send weekly study plans to students on the portal. Those plans align with our general academic map. Students study the material and lessons identified on the weekly plans through our partner curriculum providers NewPath Learning and Discovery Education, which are integrated with our Portal. Students receive assessment reports by the end of every week. Those reports identify areas of weakness of students’ performance. Consequently, our system generates appointments (classes) for the students with relevant teachers for the next week. Teachers enhance students learning collectively or individually by sending relevant material and resources to their accounts to help them enrich their learning after their virtual classes.
No. You are able to continue working through your lessons at your own pace; however, we recommend waiting for your teacher’s feedback before submitting more assignments so that you can use the feedback to improve on future coursework.
You will communicate with your teacher primarily through the virtual classes you attend with the teachers as per the appointment schedule, which is generated according to the weekly assessment report. You can also communicate with teachers via email within the learning environment. However, other modes of communication such as telephone or video conferencing can be arranged upon request and at the teacher’s discretion. FOA requests that teachers log in daily to respond to emails and address inquiries.
